Research Interests:
- Understanding the contours and effects of the culture of lawyers on the American legal system. Legal culture begins in law school and continues through legal workplaces -- i.e. firms, courts, government agencies -- during the lawyer's career.
- Exploring the history and development of Public Service Announcements. This involves tracking the development of the peacetime use of government advertising. I am presenting a paper on this topic at the Midwest Political Science Association in 2012.
- Investigating the history and development of for-profit marketing for social causes and its political and social importance. This works grows out of an earlier paper (presented at Northeastern Political Science Association 2009) on the notion of the "Entertaining Government."
